Memoirs of the Lost
Memoirs of the Lost is a captivating project that has emerged from the FireStation Artist in Residence program. This unique project is a testament to the past, with each piece serving as a memento of the roundabouts that once dotted the landscape of Qatar. These roundabouts were once a vital part of the city's infrastructure, making navigation easy for locals and visitors alike. However, with the rapid development of the country, the roundabouts were removed and replaced with straight roads, and with them went a piece of the city's history.
Memoirs of the Lost showcases the interactive feature of each piece, inviting the user to engage with the artwork and encouraging them to reconnect with their memories attached to each roundabout. The project is a poignant tribute to the rich cultural history of Qatar, and a celebration of the country's ongoing development. Each piece is a work of art, meticulously crafted and imbued with the spirit of the past. Through Memoirs of the Lost, we are reminded of the importance of preserving our heritage and the memories that make us who we are.
