Translating Home
Translating Home, funded by Arts Council England, is a creative investigation into the concept of 'home' in our diverse community. Three professional artists, Sidra Zubairi from Lahore Pakistan, Nik Hartley from Pendle and Emily Forbes community artist, worked across 3 different artistic disciplines (textiles, ceramics, and photography) with South Asian community, refugees and asylum seekers. Within the disciplines they guided the group to explore individual notions of home, belonging and identity. During the 12 creative sessions the group have created unique, bold, ceramic wearable pieces, each with its own unique concept of home.
